The ARSB ran several successful campaigns in partnership with the NHS England on raising awareness of blood and organ donation in the south Asian community.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh is one of the great revolutionary and a humanist, much loved and revered by the people of the Indian sub-continent. The ARSB annually organise a public meeting on Shaheed Bhagat Singh's birth anniversary to promote his rationalist thought and progressive ideas.
Our commitment to celebrating the lives and works of great scientists, thinkers and philosophers whose rationalist thought has shaped our world includes commemorating the anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin’s ‘On the origin of Species’.
The ARSB regularly organise public meetings and seminars in association with other humanist organisations. The public meeting in this picture was held together with South Asian Humanist Association (SAHA) in Handsworth, Birmingham.
The ‘Ghadar Centenary’ project, focussed around our key strength of using culture as a medium of imaginative community engagement it used drama, film, poetry and music to develop a legacy for the younger generation of Britons of south Asian heritage. With an exhibition researched and developed by a group of schools students from Birmingham the Ghadar centenary project was unique in engaging with young people from inception to delivery.
